Love it! Joined open water course, Vicente is our coach 🙌🏾 he is absolutely great, first time lesson I was a bit nervous feel everything so new to me, he explained many details, let me feel more confident and each time get better. I had more practice also fix my problems, I learned so much, all lessons is very clear and useful, we went to beautiful beach shore dive practice, they provided gear and all I feel clean and maintenance well. Today just went whitsunday, Annie organized well and take care everyone, boat to island was so much fun and wet, we saw beautiful reef 🪸 and fish❤️love it! My brother and myself completed our Open Water (April) and Advanced Open Water (December) certifications with the Airlie Beach Dive Centre, and after 9 dives with them, I can confidently recommend this operation without hesitation. -Safety, Leadership & Communication: Safety is clearly paramount to them. Annie (the owner) skippered every dive I participated in and never left the vessel while divers were in the water. She continuously monitored conditions and divers, and the crew routinely checked on all participants. The boat was always there when we surfaced (great naviagtion of the instructors). I have dived with them in both calm and challenging conditions and always felt well supervised and secure. Annie is highly experienced as a skipper, and instructor. Leading up to the dives she consistently provided clear updates on weather, conditions, dive plans, and any changes leading up to each trip. Dive briefings were thorough, structured, and reassuring. -Training & Instruction: My Open Water course with Florian (Flo) was excellent. We spent plenty of time in the pool, and Flo made sure every skill was properly understood—not rushed. He broke things down clearly, was patient, and checked in constantly to make sure we were comfortable and confident before moving on. That solid pool training translated directly to stress-free and enjoyable training dives, where he continued to show genuine care and attention. For my Advanced Open Water, I had Vincente, who was an absolute legend underwater—professional, fun, and incredibly attentive. He helped fine-tune my buoyancy throughout the dives, taught me how to properly deploy and use a lift bag underwater, and carried spare weights for the other students and fun divers in case anyone needed them. That level of preparation and awareness really stood out. Annie also let me use her camera for my AOW and taught me how to shoot underwater. While underwater, Vincente helped me further with my buoancy and tricks on shooting underwater. -Diving Experience & Atmosphere: Their equipment was well maintained and new, instructors were excellent underwater navigators, and marine life was actively pointed out to the entire group. The instructors constantly maintained contact with the group and checked everyones air and wellbeing. Surface intervals included fresh fruit and snacks, and the overall atmosphere on board was professional, relaxed, and inclusive. The team fosters an environment where divers feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely enjoy the day. -The vibe: Most importantly—they are a lot of fun! Annie, Florian, and Vincente are genuinely lovely people. Spending a full day on a boat with strangers is awkward most times, I have been on many other similar experiences where tour operators struggle to break the awkwardness between all the guests, but with this team there were no awkward moments at all. They were great at making everyone feel comfortable, relaxed, and included. I have made some great friends through courses with the Airlie beach dive centre! I have only ever felt confident, comfortable and relaxed when diving with the Airlie beach dive centre! Every experience was fantastic, and the dive sites were gorgeous! One would be foolish not to dive with Annie at the Airlie beach dive centre!!!! Attached photos were taken by Vincente and myself. My dad, sister and I went scuba diving with Annie and my mum and brother went snorkeling and we all had the best time and have made memories we will never forget. I loved every part of this experience, Annie was an amazing instructor that taught us how to dive safely and Randall our boat driver was lovely as well. Everyone said we went out on the best day of the year and it definitely was. Annie and Randall took us to manta bay first and we saw George the great Maury Fish and saw beautiful coral which looked endless, then we drove to butterfly bay, a coral cliff and explored underwater and it was my favourite place. The coral and fish were magnificent and I would highly recommend Airlie beach dive and snorkel centre and I want to thank Annie so much for this wonderful experience!!! Love youu ❤️
We had the most amazing time doing our open water qualification here. Annie and Mark are excellent teachers and we felt really safe and well looked after. Horseshoe Bay was great and we saw alot of healthy colourful coral and fish. We learned alot and we are looking forward to doing more dives! I would 100% recommend. Thank you so much! 🐠
