Had dinner at Paradiso and ordered the 250g eye fillet with chat potatoes, onion jam, sesame shallot crumb, and seasonal greens (broccolini and zucchini). Hands down, this was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time, I'm still dreaming about it! The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, which is even more impressive considering I ordered it medium well-done (I know, I know... some would say I'm committing a crime against a beautiful piece of meat!). Somehow they nailed it, tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. The vegetables were buttery and cooked al dente, with just the right amount of bite, and the sesame shallot crumb elevated the whole dish with an incredible crunch and depth of flavour. Every element on the plate felt thoughtfully prepared and perfectly balanced. At $55, it wasn't the cheapest meal on the menu, but it was worth every single dollar. If you're visiting Airlie Beach and looking for a memorable meal, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I'll definitely be back. 10/10 — still thinking about that steak two weeks later. *Photo doesn’t do it any justice!
To be honest, for my first meal at Airlie Beach, I chose this well-known restaurant. The pork ribs and seafood paella, as well as the bread served before the meal, were all delicious. I also ordered wine and the atmosphere was great, so I decided to visit again. However, the second experience was really bad. The fried chicken cutlet had no taste at all, without any sauce to go with it. The meat was thick and tough. The single-ordered sauce was also tasteless. The signature black truffle mushroom paella had no sweetness of cream, only saltiness. The button mushrooms were large and had no texture. Overall, it was an oily and salty experience. I really won't try it again. I hope these two dishes can be improved.
The food was very nice, pastas both were quite rich and creamy. I would have liked a little more chicken in the pesto, but was lovely all the same. Chips were seasoned beautifully. It wasn’t too busy, as we were late eating, which allowed for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. A little pricy for what you get but we enjoyed our meal.
Been travelling through North Queensland over the last month and I’ve stopped into Paradiso 3 times now. It’s become my go to spot for breakfast whenever I’m passing through. The Eggs Benny is hands down the best in town, the service is always great, and the location and atmosphere are fantastic. The whole place has a real buzz about it. Will definitely be back again on my travels.
