It’s a rainy morning but I braved the rain and wenr to Sidewalk Cafe. I have read a lot about this cafe and I need to try it for myself. I arrived there 7:00am and heaps of seats available. I was welcomed by a very nice lady (who have a beautiful curly hair) who was in the counter. Food was quickly prepared. I had my usual go-to brekky: cappucino with oat milk and Smoked Salmon Bagel with an extra fried egg. And the best thing- I am seated right infront of the road. Truly, a nice experience dining in ‘sidewalk’ while people watching. And bonus experience is you got to have a view of the waterfront and esplanade. I will definitely go back here in my next visit to the Heart of the Reef.
Lovely staff, welcome straight upon arrival. We came here twice and each time we received the same high satisfaction level. We ordered the chicken and waffles and my god it was delicious. Only comment is perhaps if you could choose what type of eggs you could have - I’m sure they wouldn’t have minded if I had asked though. We also ordered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon which was tasty. The next day we had to return and I had the pork with eggs Benedict with sour dough bagel which was good but not as good as the waffles. My partner had apple pancakes which was delicious. Could have peeled apples but that is just preference. Well done team.
The last time I left Airlie Beach, one of my former colleagues treated me to breakfast here on my final day. It was my first time trying their breakfast, and I couldn't believe I'd waited so long—it was such a shame I only discovered it at the end! This time, after coming back to Airlie, I finally had the chance to return and enjoy those memorable flavours again. The view is beautiful, and I absolutely love their homemade tomato relish with eggs and toast. This visit I also tried a different dish, and it was just as delicious. Highly recommend! 😊
Fab cafe for breakfast and brunch! We were only in Airlie Beach for a week but we visited the Sidewalk Cafe three times. The staff were always super friendly, service was quick and we loved the vibe. One of the days we brought our laptops to work on and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Food and coffees were all delicious, especially the warm scones with butter and jam. The location is great for people watching too!
